Prague Day 4

Not much happening today. Went and looked at the flat for rent. I'd be sharing it with a Russian girl and her Irish boyfriend, and another girl. The building is of neo-renaissance style, very charming, with the usual high ceilings and giant wood windows. It's next door to Caesars Palace Prague http://travel.nextag.com/Caesar-Palace-Hotel-610527590/hotel-information-html, and just up the street from Frank Gehry's Dancing House http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dancing_House. It's a definite possibility. I'll decide over the weekend, since I'd like to explore the area a bit more, check out the local grocery store, gym, etc.

I'm impressed with the service I've received in a few food places. When I had my morning cappuccino today, the clerk placed my cup in a pretty tray about 5x7", which included a lid for the cup, a napkin, a tiny spoon and 2 packets of sugar. After I'm done, they place a new one for the next customer. I thought it was a nice touch, and a far cry from the Tim Horton's drive through where you're literally just another number. I should have taken a photo. Maybe next time. Also, when I had lunch today, the server wiped the water from the table (that came from my water bottle) before she set down my lunch. They bring you cutlery, napkins, butter, cream, etc in a little wicker basket. I thought that was cute too.

Tesco and Datart (where I bought a few things like a hair dryer, battery charger, and adaptor) are a whole different ball game from what I am used to. Again, unlike Walmart and Tim Horton's where you're rushed through the queue as fast as they can move you, the clerks in these stores are seated, sometimes at a desk with a chair for the client to sit in as well. No one seems to be in a hurry. Not what I am used to, but I certainly appreciate it. Only 2 photos today, I'll post them later. Now: I need a nap. Over and out!!
